Our Story

Starched was born through a yearning to add another dimension to my career. A professional woman, taking some time to spend with my children, but not managing to let go of the idea of still being able to stamp my mark on something in the future.

Having daughters of my own, I want to set an example for them, that allows them to see that you can balance motherhood with ambition.

It is important to me, to not only better my own life; but to help others along their way, to see their worth and help build their confidence.

Having a domestic worker in my home, who makes sure our home is always immaculate and the needs of our children met with love and affection, highlighted, that these woman need to be given an enormous amount of recognition for the often unglamourous job they do. Our domestic worker Violet, always arrives in the morning with a smile on her face and the effervescence of her personality has filtered through into our family and she has become an integral part of it. This is what drew my  attention to the fact that there is definitely a gap in the market to provide work wear that people can be proud of. 

After-all, studies show that our emotions can create  a productive state of being and an effective state of mind. People generally feel calm, happy and energised when they are in their most productive state. Changing how you think and feel about yourself, can help ensure a brighter future.

Confidence is the ability to feel beautiful, without needing someone to tell you.

The journey of Starched keeps the confidence of a woman, foremost in its goals and aspirations.

We hope to continue to diversify our business, take to heart feedback we are given and put a smile on many ladies and hopefully soon some men's faces too.
